The Kudzidza Foundation is a non- profit organization, which sends supplies and assistance to families in Africa and offers a cultural exchange between people of the U.S. and those from Africa. The word 'Kudzidza' translates as "education" in the Shona language, one of many dialects in Zimbabwe.

We are a fully self-contained multimedia organization featuring live music, drumming, art, dancing and other programs from Africa. We have interactive performances that include singing, drumming, storytelling and dancing lead by authentic African performers. We also have a "jump and prance" African Band!

The culture of Africa is different and it touches our audiences deeply. What Kudzidza strives to convey is the soul of our African people and our magnificent roots.

Bongo was the first of twelve children born in a remote village in Zimbabwe. His mother was a traditional healer and this is where Bongo began his musical career. After hearing stories from his grandmother, he began to listen to and he began to experiment with drum playing. He is now an accomplished drummer who wishes to share his background with all children. He grew up participating in song and drumming as a means of introducing himself to other children, for learning important lessons in life and for survival. He is also an accomplished sculptor (see contact for info) who learned this trade from his Grandfather as a means to support his family.
